# Batteries before the power station

> A box of the right batteries keeps the lamp and the radio useful. The station can wait.

Part of the [Power](https://bordernest.com/silo/power.md) guides.

Open the battery door. If it says AA, a 24 pack of AA belongs next to that device, inside the house, not in a hot garage. If it says AAA, this pack is the wrong one. The walkie talkies in the other room say AAA batteries are not included, so do not buy this brick for those radios.

**Energizer: Energizer MAX AA Batteries, 24 count.** Twenty four AA cells. Only for devices that say AA.

Twice a year, spend the older pack on a remote so the stash stays newer. See Light, a radio, and enough power for a short list for the overview. Check the battery size before you buy a brick of them if you are staring at two packs and guessing.

**Energizer: Energizer Vision HD+ LED Headlamp.** The lamp these batteries are for, if the page matches.

**Midland: Midland ER310 Emergency Crank Weather Radio.** The radio still matters more than a bigger battery. It also cranks.
